Collecting Diecast Models?
Why
A Hobby is always entertaining, relaxes you & it's a meditation. It lifts up your spirits & energizes you.
Collecting Diecast Models is a rare but very interesting hobby. It's far more than a hobby or a pastime. The vehicle models are made of metal. They exhibit much more detail than plastic versions, which ensures longevity and value. the historical innovations of the original vehicles once created a 'WOW' effect brings you a different enthusiasm as you hold it.
What can you collect?
There are numerous categories and an uncountable number of models within them.
Cars
Trucks
Trains
Trams
Buses and coaches
Military machines
Air crafts
ships……………..
and the list goes on.
Some specialize in a certain variety.
Period
Depending on the period of manufacture you can categorize your collection. The vehicle belongs to 50s.. 60s.. 70s..or the newer models
Brand
If you like you can collect only Lamborghinis. Some are crazy about them, while some look for another such as Dinky Toys, Matchbox, or Mattel. it is up to your taste to choose your brand.
Size
The size of the Diecast model which is available is the size factor. 1:12
1:36
1:43
Storage
The vehicles should be stored in a proper order. Priyanka, one of my good friends who is a collector & specialized in trains, owns a huge collection. He displays the vehicles in wooden cabinets.
Backgrounds
Miniature trees, houses, people will add models that look natural and real. The trains running through tunnels & wrapping around mountainous parts of the country would feel like you are seeing a real train from the sky.
Maintenance
Maintenance is so important. Dusting frequently to prevent discoloring, damaging or tarnishing. The models should be kept at a moderate temperature avoiding moisture or direct sunlight.
