The Golden Habbit of reading & how to give your child the habbit of reading

Develop the habit of reading for your child today. It is the greatest gift you can give any child.  So, never just give a book to a child, rather give the child the habit of reading. There is no better way of helping our children to do well in life than getting them to read well and develop a real love for the written word.

We wish & pray that your child becomes a good reader, the child will also be able to write well, because they widen their vocabulary. In addition, their grammar, punctuation and spelling will improve drastically.

Today technology has made a negative impact on the reading habit. But, if you, as parents, can encourage the reading habit in your child, the child will find it much easier to concentrate on school work. As time in school is limited to go to the library and sit down and read, I would appreciate it if you can make a small reading corner for your child at home. If you have some space, your child can have their own mini-library at home. That will be the best as it will send a message that books are important in life and should be treasured.

Even though the time in the school library is limited, students can always visit the library during their free time to read.

If your child is in Pre primary to primary, please try to read your child a bedtime story, so that the child can develop a love of books.

We are in the information hyper track, still, please do not forget that in the past, when we had no television and computers, we read books for enjoyment, and that we grew up learning to enjoy the little things of life.

Give the Golden Habit of reading & teach your child this love that otherwise they might miss forever.
